Dispatch Associate
Job Summary:
The role of the Dispatch Associate is to effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Dispatch Centre to ensure that the transportation needs of our local and international clients are catered to.
Core Responsibilities:
- Have detailed knowledge of all the destinations that we dispatch and all the Accounts that we are contracted to provide transportation for.
- Able to do accurate reporting to capture the tasks for a given day or time period.
- Use of effective written and verbal communication to organize transfers with local and international partners.
- Strategically manage transportation logistics to eliminate delays, missed pickups, or any confusion that will negatively impact our clients.
- Manage large volumes of data (emails, calls, manifests etc.) and properly manage them to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Foster and maintain close relationships with other team members, including resorts, customer support agents, and transportation providers to provide a high level of service to our clients.
- Properly report and track incidents and ensure that proper adjustments are made to eliminate such incidents.
- Be responsible for one’s own development and keep abreast of updates and changes in the company and transportation industry.
- Any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business or related discipline.
- Computer literate. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
- 2-3 years’ work experience in the transportation industry or similar job position.
Job Requirements/Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge of business etiquette practices.
- Knowledge of vehicles used for public transportation and key location in the tourism industry (resorts, tour locations etc.).
- Ability to be thorough and have an eye for detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; be solution-oriented and able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure while being receptive to feedback.
- Sound leadership skills and therefore the ability to work without direct supervision.
- Understanding and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and therefore promote harmonious relationships (inter and intra-departmentally).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule.
