Rental Ambassador

Purpose:

The primary ambassador for achieving sales targets while ensuring a quality customer experience throughout the entire cycle of service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Meet and welcome customers:
  • Provide quality customer care at all points with the customer based on approved standards.
  • Open and Close Rental Agreements (RAs):
  • Ensure vehicle/ fleet availability based on reservations and assign rental vehicles.
  • Ensure that all reservation information is accurate, vouchers are properly credited, the RA is accurate, and customers receive the correct class of vehicle and special equipment. 
  • Prepare all rental and return documents accurately and completely.
  • Assist customers with directions, maps, local area, and appropriate service information.
  • Sell optional services, products, and upgrades by using approved service and sales techniques. 
  • Assured customer understanding of specific charges and terms.
  • Deliver vehicle to customer and check-off where necessary.
  • Thank customers for their business and enquire about service satisfaction levels.
  • Complete rental transactions at off-site locations as necessary.
  • Maintain the appearance of the rental counters and areas to present a neat and orderly image, and ensure that the counter is stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Determine customer needs and recommend available and appropriate rental products and services.
  •  Answer the telephone and provide accurate information that addresses the needs of caller(s).
  • Complete handover of shift by updating shift handover log and communicating all important details.
  • Resolve and log customer issues and complaints. 
  • When assigned to a home city location, extend administrative and office support to the location. 
  • Attend and complete all required training & development courses and workshops. 
  • Any other task designated by the supervisor or management.
  • Fleet Check and Inspection:
  • Complete station fleet sheet/ vehicle turnaround and note any damage / possible reasons for turn back to the maintenance department. 
  • Physically check all ready vehicles received to ensure all accessories and mandatory standard equipment are intact and adhere to standards. 
  • Ensure proper fuel tank level.
  • Facilitate the Customer Vehicle Return Process.
  • Check for damage on incoming vehicles; if damage is found, direct customers to the counter for the completion of a damage/loss report.
  • Remind customers to check for personal belongings.
  • Identify and log customer items left in vehicles.
  • Determine the fuel plan chosen by the customer and check to see whether the vehicle has a full tank of gas, if required.
  • Advise and review rental charges and provide an accurate receipt.
  • Provide information regarding transportation to the airport terminal if required. 
  • Thank customers for their business; inquire about service, satisfaction and take possible complaints.
  • Report customer service issues or complaints to the sales agent, supervisor, or manager on duty.
  • Keep the lot organized for ease of access and traffic flow.
  • Vehicle Care and Transportation: 
  • Safely drive and deliver vehicles locally or out of the area as needed.
  • Refuel vehicles and log the identification numbers with fuel and mileage.
  • .Follow procedures for handling flagged or damaged vehicles. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • Computer literate.
  • Have a strong passion and interest in customer service and hospitality.
  • Demonstrates self-confidence with the ability to take initiative. 
  • Demonstrate adequate general knowledge of country and local attractions.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Has an interest in sales.
  • Ability and willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and a 5-day work week.
  • Valid Jamaican General Driver’s license (minimum 1 year old).
  • Safe driving record.
  • Must be 23yrs or older.
