Accountant 
The Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and compliant financial reports in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), covering statutory and management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The role delivers high-quality financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making, while strengthening financial governance and reporting processes. The Accountant ensures timely, reliable financial information is provided to senior management, regulators, auditors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Act as liaison with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Financial Analysis & Decision Support:
  • Deliver high-quality management reports with meaningful commentary and analysis.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and profitability assessments.
  • Evaluate financial implications of new products, investments, or operational changes.
Data Integrity & Systems:
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data across systems.
  • Drive enhancements in reporting tools, templates, and automation using advanced Excel/ financial models.
  • Partner with operations and IT to improve finance systems and data flows.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Collaborate effectively with finance and cross-functional team members, providing support and sharing expertise to contribute to broader departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualification & Requirements
  • First degree in related areas such as Finance would be an asset.
  • Work experience: minimum of three years post‑qualification experience in financial reporting, preferably within financial services, investments, or regulated entities.
  • Proven experience preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and performance reporting.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial models, reconciliations, analysis).

  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance audiences including regulators and auditors.
  • Adaptability & Prioritisation: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting strict reporting deadlines.
  • Integrity & Professionalism: Maintains high standards of confidentiality and professional conduct in all aspects of the role.
