The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment, demonstrating consistency, efficiency, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and taste.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with food preparation, storage, stock rotation, and inventory control.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
- Assist in minimizing food waste and controlling costs.
- Support other kitchen operations as directed by the Chef or Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an asset.
- 2–3 years of continuous employment in a similar Cook position within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Experience in a paid dining restaurant is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong all-inclusive resort culinary experience are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Valid Food Handler's Permit (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.

- Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.

- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
