Cook 

The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment, demonstrating consistency, efficiency, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and taste.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist with food preparation, storage, stock rotation, and inventory control.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in minimizing food waste and controlling costs.
  • Support other kitchen operations as directed by the Chef or Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal culinary training or certification is an asset.
  • 2–3 years of continuous employment in a similar Cook position within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Experience in a paid dining restaurant is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong all-inclusive resort culinary experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Valid Food Handler's Permit (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques and food presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
