Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Artist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating concepts into visually compelling designs for print and digital platforms, ensuring consistency with our brand identity and communication objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Creation: Develop original graphics, layouts, and illustrations for various print materials, including newspapers, magazines, brochures, and posters, as well as digital content for our website and social media channels.
Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a cohesive visual identity across all platforms.
Collaboration: Work closely with editors, writers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver designs that meet editorial and marketing goals.
Prepress Preparation: Prepare and optimize files for printing, ensuring all technical specifications are met, including resolution, color profiles, and bleed settings.
Digital Content: Assist in creating digital assets for online platforms, ensuring designs are optimized for web and mobile viewing.
Trend Awareness: Stay updated with design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve design quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education: Certification in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in graphic design, preferably within the media or communications industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); knowledge of web design tools is a plus.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, with an emphasis on print media.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of design work.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present and explain design concepts effectively.

Cultural Awareness: Understanding of Caribbean culture and aesthetics, with the ability to incorporate local elements into design work.
Adaptability: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
