Electrical Engineer
The electrical engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems at Mystic Mountain. This role ensures that all electrical components, including power distribution, control systems, and ride safety circuits, operate efficiently and safely. The technician will work closely with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including amusement rides, motors, control panels, lighting, and other infrastructure.
- System Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment, wiring, and power systems as required.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults promptly to ensure minimal downtime for attractions and operational facilities.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work complies with national electrical codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer recommendations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Emergency Response: Provide immediate response and support during power failures or electrical emergencies.
- Collaboration: Work with other maintenance personnel to ensure seamless operations, assisting in mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting where necessary.
- Training & Guidance: Mentor junior technicians and assist in training staff on electrical safety and maintenance best practices.
- Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience
- Certification/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an amusement park, industrial, or commercial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, relays, PLCs, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
- Understanding of safety protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and fire prevention measures.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with ASTM F24 standards.
- Familiarity with ANSI B77.1 standards.
